With the constant rise in streaming platforms, one would think that Blu-rays and DVDs were reaching their ending days. However, it is precisely due to streaming platforms that it is best if we keep physical copies of our favorite anime near our homes — and of course, that includes Jujutsu Kaisen.

With each passing month, it feels as though all streaming platforms have been increasing their prices. And well, that’s because they’ve mostly been, in fact, amping up their monthly fees at every chance they get. Plus, we always risk losing our favorite shows when they are taken out of the platforms for no discernible reason. This means that more than ever, you should probably invest in getting Blu-rays and DVDs because a one-time payment means a lifetime chance of rewatching everyone dying in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya arc.

Well, if you’re a masochist, that is. But hey, if we’re rewatching Jujutsu Kaisen, we’ll be watching the whole thing. Now, that being said, the physical copies of the anime’s second season have already been slowly released in Japan, and they will continue to do so until both seasons and sequels are out. That said, let’s go over the Japanese and the English releases of the Blu-Rays of Jujutsu Kaisen.

When is the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 Blu-Ray coming out?

At this point, the English release of the DVDs hasn’t yet been announced; however, Volumes 1 to 5 have already hit the shelves in Japan, alongside the remaining volumes’ release schedule. So, while we may not yet have an exact release date for the subbed and dubbed physical copies, we can still give you a heads-up for the Japanese releases, in case you want to get yourself the original Japanese version.

While eight volumes may seem excessive, each DVD will contain a part of the story from the second season. Volumes one and two will cover Gojo’s Past Arc, showing our favorite sensei’s high school days with his bestie, Geto Suguru. This will be followed by volumes 3-8, which will cover the Shibuya Incident Arc, understandably comprising the majority of the content on the second season DVDs.

We will continue to update you with any changes in the release dates. We’re sure you are eager to get your hands on the physical copies as soon as they’re out — just as we are.

Today, Lionsgate announced that it has partnered with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino to obtain distribution rights to his two Kill Bill films in time for the bloody saga’s 20th anniversary, as well as the underappreciated crime caper Jackie Brown.

Per Deadline, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said on a post-earnings call that the company has “grown what is now Hollywood’s largest portfolio of Tarantino films to include Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Death Proof, in addition to the movies we just picked up.”

Since Lionsgate began its Tarantino collection by nabbing distribution rights for Reservoir Dogs, only Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood remain as outliers among films directed by the blood-squib maestro. Paramount just put out a 4K version of Pulp Fiction, and Universal currently holds rights to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, also available in 4K.

The nerds out there will note that, technically, there’s another Tarantino-directed movie unaccounted for: the 90-minute version of Death Proof that’s only available as part of Grindhouse, the 2007 double-bill Tarantino shared with Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror. That trashy gem — complete with fake movie trailers at intermission — was released twice on Blu-ray, once in 2010 by Vivendi Visual Entertainment and again in 2018 by Cinedigm. It’s unclear who holds the rights to Grindhouse now.

According to Feltheimer, the studio and Tarantino will release a new, remastered 4K edition of Kill Bill later this year to celebrate the anniversary. He offered no details about what the release will entail or which special features will be included. Fans can always keep their fingers crossed for the infamous Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair cut that screened at Cannes in 2004 and again at Tarantino’s own New Beverly Cinema in 2021, which joins both volumes of the story into one epic. We seriously doubt Tarantino will have the time or inclination to secretly shoot the much-anticipated Kill Bill Vol. 3 in time for the anniversary release, especially since he’s going into production this year on what he claims is his final film, The Movie Critic.

Presumably, Lionsgate will later release a new 4K version of Jackie Brown, but the timeline is unclear since the company owns the rights to many other Tarantino films that are not yet available in 4K, including Death Proof, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight, which was shot in 65mm and would look gorgeous on a nice setup. Perhaps Lionsgate will move through Tarantino’s body of work chronologically after putting out Kill Bill for the anniversary. Since Jackie Brown released before Kill Bill, that would put it on deck for the 4K treatment.

Although many people don’t care about new film scans and physical media, remember that a new 4K edition has a good chance of ending up at various revival theaters and festivals throughout the country. Plus, every time guys like Francis Ford Coppola rescan their films, they seem to also release an entirely new cut that fixes longstanding issues they’ve had with the movie. Don’t count on that from Tarantino — The Whole Bloody Affair is the closest we’ll ever get to a director’s cut from him, and it would be really nice, Lionsgate, if some of us could take that one home.

The biggest horror success so far in 2023, M3GAN, looks set to get its much-anticipated unrated cut in its home video release.

Surprisingly violent for a PG-13 release, M3GAN has had an absolute ball of a time at the box office. Comedic and incisive with its satire, it’s a further win for Akela Cooper in her burgeoning career. Already confirmed to have a sequel on its way, it now looks to continue the momentum with an unrated cut.

The elusive R-rated cut has been a topic of discussion since its PG-13 rating was confirmed, with there some complaints before release over the need to cut down on the gruesomeness. The final product still ended up being fairly violent, including a lovely earlobe rip.

According to an apparent leak on a Blu-Ray collectors forum, the home video release is coming with significantly more scenes like the earlobe tear. User Pieter_V reports the Blu-Ray release will include both versions on the one disc, so there won’t be two different versions going to market. These claims are backed up by the official Blu-Ray website, which details “1 movie, 2 cuts”.

James Wan has had an enjoyable few years in horror, directing the cult favorite Malignant before turning his hand again to pitching stories and ideas like with M3GAN. Director Gerald Johnstone was inspired by Drag Me to Hell to make a strong PG-13 horror, and he seems to have succeeded in his mission.

The reshoots required for the PG-13 rating will probably become very apparent when the unrated cut releases, although there’s also the chance the bloody cut won’t actually be any better than the original. M3GAN is currently in cinemas, while its home video release does not have a confirmed release.

If you’re a Better Call Saul fan, you’ll have to put up with what some can only describe as pure chicanery in order to secure your copy of the beloved TV show’s complete Blu-ray box set.

You might need to have a lawyer on speed dial once you see the astronomical cost of the high-definition physical media release for Better Call Saul – The Complete Series, as the Blu-ray collection will set you back $215.99, according to its listing on Amazon and signal boosted by Wario64 on Twitter.

The series only recently wrapped up and so the Blu-ray set won’t be available for a few months, on December 6.

Despite the show being much beloved, people were unsurprisingly taken aback at the high cost of the Blu-ray collection.

“Thats too much lol,” one fan wrote.

“Holy s***t,” was the only reaction another Twitter user could muster.

Another fan called the price “a whole consultation.”

“Better Wait Sale,” was another user’s free bit of legal advice.

Throw in all of Breaking Bad and El Camino and you have a deal.

However, not everyone thought the price was very astronomical, considering the show has been hailed as one of the greatest narrative dramas TV has ever seen.

“Worth every penny,” one fan wrote.

Another user could only sum up their feelings by sharing a GIF of Bryan Cranston’s Walter White and Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman exchanging a high five.

Better Call Saul, starring Bob Odenkirk as the titular Saul Goodman, just wrapped up its final episode last month. The series can be streamed on AMC Plus and some previous seasons are also available on Netflix.

The film that jumpstarted Quentin Tarantino’s career is finally jumping to 4K.

Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino’s 1992 feature directorial debut, will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on Nov. 15, 2022. Lionsgate is gifting this version to 4K TV-owning Tarantino fans to coincide with Reservoir Dogs‘ 30th anniversary.

Thirty years ago, this low-budget, minimal-setting thriller helmed by a former video store clerk premiered at Sundance and mainstreamed not just Tarantino, but independent films, leading to an indie revolution.

We hope that Reservoir Dogs will spur a second revolution: Tarantino films released in 4K. As of now, only Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Inglourious Basterds are available in that quality. Reservoir Dogs will make its 4K debut on Nov. 15, of course, but Tarantino fans with 4K viewing capabilities will still have to contend with lower quality versions of Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill: Volume 1, Kill Bill: Volume 2, Death Proof, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight.

However, 4K versions of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill: Volume 1 are listed on Blu-ray.com, but neither have a release date.

“Hopefully Kill Bill is next,” Redditor kingkib wrote in response to the announcement of Reservoir Dogs in 4K. “I’m gonna wait in hopes in a few years there will be an early Tarantino 4k collection,” maniac86 proclaimed. Still, fans are ecstatic to have one more Tarantino flick in 4K.

The Reservoir Dogs 4K version is currently unavailable for pre-order on most websites, but check back for updates. HD MOVIE SOURCE has it listed for $46.99.

It was 20 years ago today that Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man hit theaters, showing that comic book movies can be both critically-respectable and insanely profitable. And while fans have been celebrating the anniversary, Sony Pictures – Spidey’s home studio – has been going all out to commemorate the event by… tweeting a link to an outdated Blu Ray sales page on their website.

Spider-Man starred Tobey Maguire as college student Peter Parker, relatable in how in-over-his-head he was pursuing a romance with Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson, a career with his best friend’s dad’s company Oscorp, and his hobby fighting crime, and evil supergenius Harry Osborn.

Buoyed by a supporting cast that included Dunst, James Franco, and the great Willem Defoe, Raimi managed to balance the needs of telling a story that grounded superheroic antics with a story and characters that remained recognizably human. The return at the box office launched a new multibillion-dollar genre that shows no signs of losing popularity with audiences worldwide.

And don’t think Sony Pictures is taking this for granted. They are, but they don’t want you to think it. Today, Sony’s official Twitter account posted up a link to a minute-long greatest-hits trailer and a sales page, with links to where you can stream or buy (from Amazon or Wal-Mart) the blu-rays of eight of the nine Spider-Man movies currently available on home video.

While one can buy the original trilogy from Sony from their site, or even the Andrew Garfield duology, they don’t seemingly want fans to know where they can purchase Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ties in all three live-action Webhead film series.

The website also features a 30-minute featurette, also available on the Blu-ray they don’t have a sales link for, as well as a link, at the top of the page, to the minute-long trailer in their tweet.

The Batman is set to launch on Blu-Ray next month and ahead of this launch, the bonus features for the release have been revealed.

According to High Def Disk News, the Blu-Ray release of The Batman will include 11 extra features exclusive to the physical release of the film. These are listed below.

It was also announced today that The Batman is headed to HBO Max on the same day as its digital release, i.e., April 18. This precedes the Blu-Ray and 4K releases of the film which will take place almost a month later on May 24.

The Batman is the first time that Robert Pattinson took on the role of the caped crusader of Gotham. The movie, which was released back in March, told the story of the DC hero but kept him out of the larger DCEU and flaunted a completely new cast that included Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Colin Farrell as Penguin.

Universally loved by both critics and fans, The Batman currently boasts a Certified Fresh 85 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and a similarly high audience score of 87 percent.

Marvel fans can now own all three MCU Spider-Man films thanks to a new trilogy launching on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K this April.

Alongside the physical launch of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Spider-Man Triple: Home Coming, Far From Home & No Way Home collection will be available giving you the chance to own all three films in one collection.

The product has been listed on Amazon ahead of its release where you can pre-order it now. According to the listing it will launch on April 4, however, the physical launch of the latest Spider-Man adventure isn’t scheduled until April 12 so it isn’t clear if this date will be changed or if those who purchase the trilogy will get theirs first.

If you’re a fan who likes to collect physical movies then this might be the perfect way to add Spider-Man: No Way Home to your collection.

But in case you are looking for another option, Spider-Man: No Way Home has also launched digitally and is available in similar collections online including an ultimate eight film bundle featuring every outing the web-slinger has had on the big screen. This includes all three of the MCU Spider-Man movies, the original Spider-Man trilogy, and both The Amazing Spider-Man films.

The Godfather is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a limited theatrical release, of which Paramount Pictures has just released a new trailer.

The theatrical run of The Godfather 50th Anniversary will be coming late next month, then hitting 4K Ultra HD and Digital in late March.

The Academy Award-winning film is considered one of the best movies ever made and is the definitive mafia movie for many. Based on a bestselling novel by Mario Puzo, the film became a blockbuster success.

It stars Marlon Brando in an Academy Award-winning role that helped breathe new life into the legendary actor’s career. Brando plays the patriarch to the Corleone family, and the film follows the Sicilian clan’s rise and near fall from power in the U.S. The movie, which was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won three, including Best Picture, also features career-making performances from Al Pacino, James Caan, Talia Shire, Diane Keaton, and Robert Duvall.

The theatrical run of The Godfather 50th Anniversary on Feb. 25 will come exclusively to Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres in the U.S., as well as at international theaters worldwide, according to The Film Stage.

With the first-ever 4K Ultra HD release on March 22, all three films are getting a new restoration under director Francis Ford Coppola’s direction. The box set will also include Coppola’s re-edited definitive version of the third installment in the trilogy, re-dubbed THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, which originally came out in 2020 to celebrate that film’s 30th anniversary.

The restorations, which took over three years to complete, involved pouring over 300 cartons of film to select the best resolution of each frame, with 4,000 hours spent repairing film stains and other corrections and more than 1,000 hours spent on color correction. The box set will also include legacy commentaries by Coppola.

The Godfather 50th Anniversary comes to theaters Feb. 25, and comes the trilogy of films comes to 4K Ultra HD and Digital on March 22

A new featurette clip for Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci highlights the wild ride that the subject at the film’s centers goes on, Lady Gaga’s Patrizia Reggiani.

The true crime tale for one woman’s bid for power in an iconic fashion dynasty has Gaga taking a type of role that is starkly different than her Academy Award-nominated turn as the rags-to-riches singer-songwriter Ally. Be warned, from here on out, this article will contain spoilers for House of Gucci.

One of the key differences is that rather than playing a fictional character, Gaga in House of Gucci plays the real-life Reggiani, who is an Italian socialite that was convicted in the late ’90s of hiring a hitman to kill her former husband Maurizio Gucci, an heir to the Gucci fashion brand as portrayed by Adam Driver in the film.

“This film is such a wild ride, and every second of it is entertaining,” Gaga says in the featurette.

House of Gucci, which came to theaters in November of last year, boasts a star-studded cast featuring Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.

Gaga went full-blown method in her preparation of the role, immersing herself in the part by assuming an Italian accent for the six months leading up to the film’s production and during the three and a half months when it was being filmed, staying in character the entire time.

She also said this:

“On the last day of filming, I was on the balcony of my apartment in Rome, and I was blasting Dean Martin singing ‘Mambo Italiano,’ and I had a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. I was Patrizia,” she told W Magazine. “But I knew I had to say goodbye to her: Large swarms of flies kept following me around, and I truly began to believe that she had sent them. I was ready to let her go.”

House of Gucci is available on digital on Feb. 1 and comes to Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 22. Lady Gaga’s Oscar campaign is ongoing. No update on the flies.

We’re getting a first look at the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home SteelBook release, a special edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray copy of the film to be released by Best Buy.

While we don’t know much by way of details for the physical copies of the film, which only hit theaters earlier this month, we are getting a jaw-dropping look at the artwork that will don the cover of the case, which you can view below. Be warned, though, the image and the remaining text of this article below may contain spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home, so turn back now if you don’t want it ruined.

The post shared by Reddit user u/xSparky on the r/MarvelStudios subreddit, at first glance, seems too good not to be some kind of fan art interpretation of the imagined physical media release. However, a quick visit to Best Buy’s website confirms the SteelBook’s announcement and artwork are indeed genuine.

Few details are available about the release as of press time, other than it costs $29.99 and is available for pre-order now. Best Buy hasn’t announced a release date for the SteelBook, either, nor are there any special features listed at the moment.

The cover art features Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the foreground, with the background containing the main villains, Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro with a hypnotic, swirling multiverse vortex donning a warped cityscape.

For now, we’ll have to contend with watching Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters to scratch that spider-bitten itch.

Ghostbusters fanatics will soon be able to get their hands on a rare 114-minute version of the original 1984 film, thanks to an all-new Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection set coming to 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray.

The collection in question will feature the Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and loads of special features and rare footage, when it becomes available next year, reports ComicBook.

Much to the chagrin of director Paul Feig, his somewhat divisive (and yet arguably not terrible) 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters, which was later rebranded as Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, wasn’t initially included in the box set. And it still won’t contain a physical release, either. However, Sony apparently heard Feig’s complaints because it will now contain a Digital HD (downloadable) version of the 2016 film.

But what seems to really wetting fans’ beaks is the 114-minute “Preview Cut” of the 1984 original film, which features alternative takes and early versions of the special effects. It sounds like the sort of thing producers perhaps screen for test audiences to make any adjustments before the movie’s final cut and release, which would be a hard-to-find artifact of any movie release, let alone a big-name blockbuster.

According to the box set’s description of content, the newly unearthed “Preview Cut,” which is a whopping nine minutes longer than the original film, is presented in standard definition. It will include an optional commentary by Associate Producer Joe Medjuck and Editor Sheldon Kahn, so we’re sure there’s bound to be bits of trivia gold abounds in the release.
