MISSING MELANIA

Melania Trump still sick with ‘lingering cough’ and WON’T appear at Trump rally tonight to extend her yearlong absence

MELANIA Trump is still sick with a "lingering cough" and won't appear at Donald Trump's rally tonight to extend her yearlong absence.

The first lady appears to still be suffering with Covid symptoms, despite her husband being given the OK to travel and campaign again.

"Mrs. Trump continues to feel better every day following her recovery from COVID-19, but with a lingering cough, and out of an abundance of caution, she will not be traveling today," Melania's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said.

The rally, in Erie, Pennsylvania, was set to be her first campaign appearance in more than a year. The last time she appeared at a campaign event was a reelection kick off rally in Florida in June 2019.

The First Lady's last public appearance was September 29, the night of the first presidential debate.

Her husband announced that they had both tested positive for Covid-19 early in the morning of October 2.

While the president said he tested negative, and his doctors gave him the OK to continue on the campaign trail, the first lady has been out of the public eye since the family received their diagnoses.

She did share an update, as a statement published by the White House on October 14, where she said that she, too, had since tested negative for Covid-19.

In the statement, she detailed the symptoms that she experienced -- saying that they were "minimal" but they still hit her "all at once."

"It seemed to be a roller coaster of symptoms in the days after," the statement said. "I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches."

While Trump himself opted for an infusion of monoclonal antibodies to treat Covid-19, the first lady said she and her medical team chose a more natural route.

"I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food," she said.

"We had wonderful caretakers around us and we will be forever grateful for the medical care and professional discretion we received from Dr. Conley and his team," she added.
