After Joy Behar Falls On The View Set, Her Co-Hosts Empathize: ‘We Hate These Chairs’
The View co-host Joy Behar fell on the set of the show on Thursday, and her co-hosts were quick to empathize with her plight and express their mutual hatred for their chairs.
As the panelists walked out onto the set, viewers could see the audience standing and applauding when suddenly the footage then shows Behar, 79, slipping down onto the floor. Behar’s fellow panelists and a staffer rushed to help Behar back on her feet. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg told Behar, “Just stop. Just stand.”
“Let me tell you, these chairs are dangerous,” said co-host Sunny Hostin.
“These chairs move. You touch it, and you’re on the ground,” said Goldberg.
“It’s happened to all of us at one time or another,” said Hostin.
Still standing, Behar said, “Twenty-five years that has never happened.”
“Who do I sue,” asked Behar. “Who do I sue!”
“I hate these chairs,” said co-host Sara Haines.
“Steve, text us if you’re watching,” added Haines, referring to Behar’s husband, Steve Janowitz.
An audience member shouted, “We love you, Joy!” The audience applauded.
“Dead or alive,” shouted Behar, sitting in her seat.
“Always alive, baby,” said Goldberg.
“I went flying,” remarked Behar.
“We can’t even say, you know, you can’t have another glass of wine,” said Goldberg. “It takes a glass of wine to get in the chair. You’re all right.- you’re fine, yeah?”
“I just missed the step as usual,” said Behar.
Goldberg joked, “All right. Well, that’s our show today, thank you so much.”
About 15 mins. later, returning from commercial break, Goldberg said, “I want to clear something up because you know how things get out and do things. I just want to clear up, Sara did not trip joy.”
“Today I did not trip her,” said Haines, who added, “I didn’t push her. I didn’t touch her.”
Behar, who said she’s okay, remarked, “The main thing just to talk seriously, when Bob Saget fell, he died. If you hit your head and you feel dizzy or you have blurry vision, or you feel like you want to go to sleep, go to the doctor because that will kill you.”
The beloved comedian died at an Orlando hotel in January, according to his family, after “he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
“I fall all the time,” said Behar. “I’m a klutz.”
“Just for the record, we hate these chairs,” said Goldberg.
