Twitter CEO Elon Musk has sent a cryptic message about his mortality, saying that he's not suicidal and if he did take his own life "it's not real".

The 51-year-old tech billionaire spoke at a Twitter Space Q&A on the 'Twitter Files' over the weekend, where one person asked whether he felt suicidal.

"I do not have any suicidal thoughts. If I committed suicide, it's not real," the SpaceX founder said in response to more than 100,000 listeners. In total, 1.8 million tuned in.

Caitlyn Jenner, former Olympian and father of Kylie and Kendall Jenner, shared her concerns for Musk's health in a tweet on Friday, December 2.

"@elonmusk I hope you are surrounded by massive security and in an extremely safe undisclosed location - you just became public enemy number one to some very very bad people, I pray for your safety and thank you for your bravery! We need more @elonmusk in our society!!!" she wrote.

Jenner was referring to the so-called Twitter Files where Musk shared internal emails that implied staffers had censored tweets about Hunter Biden allegedly receiving money from Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.

The story, which appeared first in the New York Post, said the energy company had used this connection to gain access to then-Vice President Joe Biden.

That was in October 2020, during the last presidential campaign, and an email showed Burisma’s advisor apparently thanking Hunter for inviting them to meet with his father.

This is the second time Musk has alluded to his mortality recently, tweeting in May: "If I die under mysterious circumstances, it's been nice knowin ya."

Among the theories was a potential threat on Musk's life from Russia. His mum Maye wasn't happy, tweeting in response: "That's not funny."

He replied: "Sorry! I will do my best to stay alive."
