Liberal Influencer Ignites Firestorm After Declaring Barron Trump ‘Fair Game’ on 18th Birthday

Former NBC Universal senior executive Mike Sington created a firestorm on social media after declaring that former President Donald Trump’s son, Barron Trump, is “fair game” after his 18th birthday.
On Wednesday, the only child between former first lady Melania Trump and the Republican nominee turned 18. Trump’s adult children from previous marriages have faced criticisms due to their public profiles, but Barron has avoided the spotlight throughout Trump’s political career.
Sington on Wednesday posted a photo of Trump and Barron in a since deleted-post on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, “Barron Trump turns 18 today. He’s fair game now.”
After receiving negative responses to the post, he deleted it and gave a statement to Newsweek claiming that he never intended to invite or “wish physical harm on anyone.”
“I posted he was ‘fair game’ now, meaning, as an adult, he’s ‘fair game’ for criticism from the press,” Sington said in a statement to Newsweek.
He added, “Someone pointed out to me ‘fair game’ could mean fair game to be harmed. I don’t wish physical harm on anyone, so I took it down. I listen to the comments and criticism I receive.”
The post prompted some of the most popular online right-wing accounts on X, including Charlie Kirk and Libs of TikTok, to write responses decrying Sington’s post as “creepy.”
