The United States and United Kingdom fighter aircraft are currently intercepting drones passing over Syria and Jordan, Foreign Desk News reported. Additionally, Sky News reported that RAF jets were involved in the defense of Israel. The Associated Press news agency was later told by a US defense official that the country managed to down some drones going to Israel.

Earlier, Iran launched a barrage of drones and missiles, targeting Israel in a retaliatory attack, with Iranian state media adding that ballistic missiles were a part of the operation. Tehran said it wants to punish the latter over its embassy previously being hit in Damascus, Syria. Militant groups across the region joined in, with both Hezbollah and Houthis firing rockets as well.

Meanwhile, an Israeli source told ABC News that Tehran is solely focusing on military targets in its attack. The source also shared that the expected arrival was moved to 1 am local time.
