WITH THE TWO SIERRA LEONE SECOND AND THE 11 FOREVER YOUNG THIRD. REACTION FROM MCPEEK, AS WELL AS HIS RIDER BRIAN HERNANDEZ JR, BOTH KENTUCKIANS YOU DID TODAY. IT DOESN’T HAPPEN EVERY DAY. NO, IT DOESN’T, BUT IT REALLY FELT LIKE I FELT LIKE ALL WEEK THAT THIS WAS ALL COMING TOGETHER. I MEAN, UM, I THINK, UM, YOU FEEL THE ENERGY OF IT ALL AND, YOU KNOW, AND IF THERE’S ANY NEGATIVE, YOU’VE GOT TO CUT IT OUT. YOU’VE GOT TO GET FOCUSED IN ON ON THE POSITIVE AND YOU KNOW, I FELT REALLY POSITIVE ON BOTH HORSES. DID YOU SEE THIS COMING? WE BELIEVED IN THIS HORSE FOR A LONG TIME. YOU KNOW THAT’S WHAT THAT WAS THE NICE THING ABOUT IT. WE THOUGHT WE THOUGHT WE CAME INTO THIS WITH A LEGITIMATE CHANCE AND AND WITH, WITH THE POST POSITION WE DREW, WE THOUGHT WE COULD MAKE A LITTLE MAGIC HAPPEN. AND IT JUST YOU, YOU COULDN’T HAVE DREW IT UP ANY BETTER THAN IT. THAN IT CAME ABOUT. EVERYTHING FELL IN THE IN THE SHAPE THE WHOLE WAY AROUND THERE, THROUGH THE ENTIRE RACE, JUST LIKE I THOUGHT IT WOULD. SO WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM KENTUCKY DERBY? 150 WELL, THE HORSE THAT RARELY IS EXPECTED TO WIN WINS THIS RACE A LOT. IN FACT, IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE AND MORE IN ALMOST A LOTTERY STYLE EVENT. VERY FEW PEOPLE EXPECTED MYSTIC DAN TO FINISH FIRST ACROSS THE WIRE IN THIS MILE, AND A QUARTER CLASSIC, AND SOME OF THE BEST HORSES THAT RUN IN THIS RACE DON’T WIN. YOU COULD THINK OF CURLIN, YOU COULD THINK OF GUN RUNNER, YOU CAN THINK OF POINT GIVEN AND MAYBE MOST OF ALL, WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED THIS $200 MILLION PADDOCK IS REALLY A VERY SPECIAL PLAC
