Jon Stewart went hard on President Joe Biden’s age during a set at this year’s Netflix Is a Joke Fest, but went even harder on “anti-wokeness.”
Friday’s show wasn’t the first time Stewart addressed Biden’s age, having ranted about both Biden and former President Donald Trump during his return to The Daily Show in February. But he insisted that he’s merely pointing out the obvious:
I know liberals say, “Don’t say Joe Biden is old” — don’t say what people see with their own eyes! You can say it, he can’t hear us. I know you know how fucking old he is, and I know you don’t want to say it because Trump is so scary, but he’s so fucking old. When you watch him on television, you’re nervous, aren’t ya?
He added: “I’m not saying that Biden can’t contribute to society, he just shouldn’t be president.” During the set, he also acknowledged that Trump is also old, but as The Hollywood Reporter wrote, Trump’s supporters “don’t live in reality, and he can lie his way out of most things.”
But people who might be critics of Biden and other liberals were not safe from Stewart, who also attacked the “anti-woke” movement, and the idea of “go woke go broke”:
What are you losing? “You can’t say anything anymore.” What do you want to say? Shut the fuck up. And by the way, the people who talk about anti-woke are the biggest fucking pussies you would ever find.
I’m just so tired of it. The woke shit, you lose nothing. I’m a comedian. I’ve lost two words in 35 years. Honestly, are you that fucking unimaginative that you can’t figure it out?
Stewart came back to The Daily Show temporarily in February to host Monday nights until the presidential election. This week, he will return to the desk on Thursday.
