‘Uh-Oh’: LAX Airport Videographer Captured Wild Moment Palisades Fire First Broke Out

A videographer who was recording the planes taking off and landing at LAX may have caught the moment the Pacific Palisades wildfire began.
On Tuesday morning, the aviation enthusiast YouTube channel Airline Videos had live cameras set up near the airport. Just before 10:30 a.m., smoke could be seen in the background as a Delta flight landed. Minutes later as a United flight landed, that plume of smoke grew in size.
At 10:30 a.m., the videographer — identified as Kevin in a tweet from Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin — commented on what looked to be the early signs of a wildfire.
“Uh oh,” Kevin said on the livestream. “Not something we wanna see here in Southern California. A fire has now broke out. That is looking like Encino. Uh oh. Not what we wanna see here in Southern California. A fire has now broke out there in the hills. I believe that’s looking toward possibly Bel Air, Encino.”
The camera that was focused on the runway, and then panned up to show the smoke on the hill.
“This was the concern for many with these high winds and as dry as they are,” Kevin continued. “Weather watch in full effect.
Around 10 minutes later, the camera again panned to show that the fire had spread and gotten closer to nearby homes.
Days prior, the YouTube channel also captured the moment a chartered plane carrying the Gonzaga men’s basketball team nearly drove in the path of a commercial airliner taking off.
