Cameras captured the moment a small plane went down in Northeast Philadelphia, hitting a row of houses in a massive fireball and causing an explosion and multiple house fires on in the area of Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.

Reports from those on the ground say that there is a 'large debris field,' with multiple cars on fire, and the 'smell of fuel in the air,' according to an eye witness calling into LIVENOW. Specifically, the debris includes medical equipment. "There’s pieces everywhere," a police commander said as officers cleared the scene near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.

The wreckage, including a medical oxygen tank, was found at least a quarter mile from the crash site.
Eyewitnesses on the ground describe a 'large debris field,' multiple burning cars, and the 'smell of fuel in the air,' according to a witness calling into LIVENOW.
"It was just horrific. I was just driving down the street, coming to Wendy's and I just saw a plane basically hit the building and it exploded. The sky light up and I pulled over and basically it was just real bad around here," said one witness to ABC 6, who described the incident as "Earthquakish. It lit up the whole sky," he added.
The aircraft has been identified as a Learjet 55, a Jet Rescue Air Ambulance. The crash site is located near Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
Videos capture the terrifying moment when the plane plummeted, causing a massive explosion in a residential neighborhood. Images and videos from the scene depict a significant rescue response, with dozens of fire trucks heading towards the area.
The report has sparked a flurry of concern on social media, with many questioning the safety of air travel in light of this being the second fatal crash to hit the news this week.
