Several people have been stabbed in Amsterdam where eye witnesses reported hearing an "icy scream" as at least five people suffered injuries.
Dozens of police officers, ambulances and an air ambulance were scrambled to the scene in the Netherland's capital. A store employee has revealed she heard a lot of shouting and screaming and people started running in the direction of the incident.

Dutch Minister 'not ruling out' terror investigation
The Dutch Minister of Justice and Security says he cannot speak of the suspect’s motive.
David van Weel told local police: “It is still far too early for that.”
He added he is not ruling out a terror investigation.

"On Thursday, March 27, five people were injured in a stabbing incident near the Sint Nicolaasstraat in the city center of Amsterdam.
"Police have arrested a male suspect. His identity is currently being investigated.
"Just before 3:30PM, emergency services received several reports of a stabbing incident. Officers quickly arrived on the scene and found five injured individuals at various locations in and around the Sint Nicolaasstraat.
"Multiple ambulances and a Mobile Medical Team responded. Large parts of Dam Square were cordoned off to allow emergency services to assist and conduct investigations.
"Among the victims are a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man, both American nationals, a 26-year-old man from Poland, a 73-year-old woman from Belgium and a 19-year-old woman from Amsterdam.
"With the help of bystanders, officers apprehended a suspect in the Gravenstraat shortly after the incident.
The suspect also sustained an injury to his leg and was transported to the hospital.
"The motive behind the attack is currently unclear and under investigation.
"Police are considering the possibility the suspect may have randomly targeted victims, but the exact motive remains unknown."
Police confirm ages and nationalities of those hurt in 'random' attack
Dutch police have confirmed the ages and nationalities of those injured in today’s stabbing incident.
Officers said the victims appeared to have been chosen at random.
Those hurt included two Americans, a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man. Also injured was a 73-year-old Belgian woman, a 19-year-old woman from Amsterdam and a 26-year-old from Poland.
Two were seriously hurt.
Brits in the Netherlands told by Foreign Office to follow local advice
The Foreign Office has told Brits caught up in today’s horror in Amsterdam to follow the advice of local authorities.
In an update on the foreign travel advice for the Netherlands, the Government said: “Information on a stabbing incident in central Amsterdam. If you’re in the immediate area, follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local media.”
'Civilian helped take down stabbing suspect'
The suspect involved in today's incident was detained with the "help of a civilian", Dutch police have confirmed.
Stabbing victims included 'child and elderly woman'
Reports online have suggested the four stabbing victims included a "young girl and an elderly woman".
This is yet to be confirmed by Dutch police.
Stabbing suspect among those injured in Amsterdam attack
Dutch police have clarified the five people injured in today's attack included the suspect, who was arrested.
In an update the force said: "Among the five wounded we previously reported, is also the arrested suspect. This means there are four victims of the stabbing.
"We currently have no further information about the condition of the four injured victims."

Top city officials at crunch meeting over Amsterdam stabbings
City officials, including Mayor Femke Halsema, Chief Prosecutor René de Beukelaer and Police Chief Peter Holla are understood to be at a meeting over today’s incident.
Dam Square was closed off to allow a helicopter to land at the scene and assist the injured.

'A motive is still unclear'
Dutch Police have released a statement in relation to this afternoon's incident, as they confirmed a suspect has been arrested.
They said on social media: "In a stabbing incident at the Sint Nicolaasstraat nearby the Dam square five people have been injured. One suspect has been arrested.
"A motive is currently still unclear, but part of our investigation.
"We'd like to urge people to share any footage of the incident at the Sint Nicolaasstraat nearby the Dam Square with us."
