Solids Challengers!

Happy Friday!  It feels like the start of a good weekend.  I have a design wall filled with quilt blocks, mostly ready to be sewn together and an appointment to see a house with potential tonight. Fingers crossed!

Anyhoo, it's time to announce our 4 lucky, Solids challengers!

Thanks for sharing your ideas for the seasonal solid fabric packs curated by Quilt Sandwich Fabrics.   Soooo many good ideas, almost all of them quilts. We sure are a quilty bunch!  Do remember that there's a fair bit of luck to which ideas get chosen.  Without further ado, our challengers!

no. 1 - Kara Jamison

Kara Jamison who says "Oh Rachel, this is exactly what I need. I have been dealing with illness the past year and a half, but have just been hit with quilting frenzy. I love to make bargellos and have been looking at fabrics and wondering if I could make a bargello of all solids".

Since quilting this Bargello quilt made by Andrea Kollath @QuiltManufaktur, I’ve been interested in the style. Kara is going to make one with the Winter bundle!

no. 2 - Jamie @GummieWormBelly

Jamie, whose plans for a Spring bundle are, "torn between a muffin tops or flying geese quilt. Either way, pairing colors similar in tone for each individual block before sticking everything together to make larger more contrasting strips would be a fun adventure in color play!” Well, whichever you make will be lovely!

no. 3 - Pat S @we10mom

Pat has been making some gorgeous blocks with solids, so I am sure she will do the Winter bundle justice.

I love the idea of a Trip Round the World quilt, Pat! I think the winter fabric bundle colors are similar to this gorgeous Trip Around the World quilt. As you said, it’s a good project for a short time frame since these quilts come together quickly.

no. 4 - @V_Shelton

And last but not least, V Shelton, who declared, “I would love to be considered for your solids challenge! I would use the summer pack to recreate this wolf.”

Wowzers! That would be pretty special. Let’s see it happen!

Now, if you're thinking, "she totally should have picked me", you're probably right!  I'll try to pick you next time.

A great big thanks to Quilt Sandwich Fabrics for this fun challenge.  We'll have to do it again sometime.  Meanwhile, if one of the seasonal bundles had your name written all over it, snatch one up before they're gone!

Have fun, challengers!  We can't wait to see what you cook up!!!
