Chick Fil A Sauce Recipe

This Chick Fil A Sauce recipe is a knock-off of the stuff you can get in this popular restaurant. It’s far healthier and still gives you great flavor you can enjoy any time at home!

It wasn’t until I moved to the south that I found out how popular Chick Fil A is. In fact, the popular chain of fast food restaurants are practically religion in the south. At least they are here in North Carolina.

I knew I was in the south the moment I saw restaurants like Bojangles and Biscuitville. Say that with a southern accent and you’ll get the idea.

This. Is. The. South.

And bless their hearts, these restaurants are everywhere here! They are as common as Starbucks back home in California. You see them everywhere you go! And since I’ve never set foot inside any of these restaurants, I had to rely on friends who have been there to tell me if I got close with this recipe or not.

WHAT IS CHICK FIL A SAUCE?

It’s a creamy dipping sauce that was originally the accidental marriage of honey mustard and barbecue sauce. Once they realized they had a magical combination, they tested further and ended up with the addition of mayonnaise for the sauce you can still buy today.

MAYONNAISE FOR HOMEMADE CHICK FIL A SAUCE

I will start off by saying that the mayo you use can make a big difference. I made my own mayo, but you should definitely use whichever mayo you are used to.

SAUCE SWEETENER

A quick look around the internet shows that many recipes for this type of sauce use honey for sweetener. You can certainly do that, I just used what I had on hand. This can also change the flavor, so use your best judgement here.

BARBECUE SAUCE FOR CHICK FIL A SAUCE

Here again, the barbecue sauce you use can make a huge difference in the flavor. I made my own, but there are also a few clean brands on the market. Bone Suckin’ Sauce comes to mind. (Not paid to promote them). Their sauce will change the flavor here a bit, but it will still be delicious.

All this to say that based on where you are and what ingredients you have available to you, the flavor of this sauce could change a bit. But no matter how you look at it, you’ll have a wonderful sauce to add to burgers or even dip your homemade french fries in.

How To Make Chick Fil A Sauce

You can adjust any of the ingredients to make any of the flavors heavier and suited to your tastes. Use these measurements more as a jumping off point and adjust as you like! It may not be the exact same flavor as you will find in the restaurant, but it comes close enough. And any way you look at it, you’ll end up with a delicious sauce for fries and burgers.
