The report claims that Apple is training both Siri and the iPhone’s built-in Spotlight search tool on large language models, with a goal of improving each feature’s ability to answer more complex questions accurately. The revamped version of Spotlight could also offer deeper integration with “specific” functions and features in apps.

Why am I thinking about the coming of Siri+ when I read this report?

Ultimately, he said he’s not going to get one (price), but that it really was a revelatory experience and was unlike anything he’d seen before.

Someone who finished a demo of the Apple Vision Pro. Is this exactly what many people said when they first tried the Macintosh back in 1984? The rest is history.

A18 series chips are expected to debut in iPhone 16 models in September. It was previously rumored that some generative AI features could be exclusive to iPhone 16 models, and the upgraded Neural Engine could be a reason why.

My wish is that the pre-iPhone 16 devices can get a reasonably useful generative AI experience under the updated Siri. 🙏🏻

🔗 Another Longtime Industrial Designer Leaves Apple - MacRumors

After Evans Hankey left, Apple eliminated the Product Design Chief role and restructured the product design team under operations chief Jeff Williams. According to Bloomberg, some of the people on the design team are unhappy with being led by an operations person instead of a designer, and cost cutting efforts have also changed the way the design team operates.

There is an apparent imbalance between the ops and design groups at Apple. I’m wary of this trend.

I’ve been granted a Microsoft Copilot license at work for testing purposes. I have a love and hate relationship with Microsoft software in general. This will probably extend to cover Copilot as well. I shall not be deceived by this video. I will see.
