Haley and Sara are here for one final laugh and terrible attempt at discussing Star Trek Picard and the season 3 finale, The Last Generation.

What begins as an awkward love triangle quickly warps into a full-blown rom-com fever dream. Spock wakes up engaged to Chapel, the crew is prepping for a wedding instead of a centennial celebration, and reality itself seems to be playing fast and loose with the facts. While some members of the crew are blissfully swept up in the festivities, others start to sense something is very, very off--especially a confused and suspicious Dr. Korby.

We'll dig into the emotional core of the episode, including Ethan Peck's fantastic performance as a Vulcan barely holding himself together, and how Strange New Worlds continues to blend genres without losing its heart. Director Jordon Canning, who brought us last season's rom-com "Charades," once again balances comedy, sci-fi, and surprising depth in a story that explores how emotions shape our reality.

We'll be digging into all the fallout from last season's cliffhanger, exploring how the show handled the return to the Gorn conflict and whether the emotional stakes lived up to the build-up. Did Pike make the right call? Was the rescue worth the cost? And what does this episode signal for the rest of the season? We’ve definitely got thoughts.

Dave Barclay got his first "big break" in the movie industry as a puppeteer when he was called up to help control the now legendary Yoda in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. He was also one of the people inside Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi. Having worked in all sorts of films and television including Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and much more, Dave has been at the cutting edge of animatronic puppetry since 1979. We had the great pleasure of visiting with Dave and hearing some fabulous stories of his time in Star Wars and other films and television. The Iron Giant is a charming animated film directed by Brad Bird that failed to create box office success, but it has since become a favorite of robot loving sci-fi fans everywhere! April is but a distant memory, and we find ourselves in May - with Memorial Day right around the corner! Unfortunately, this means that we have NOT been keeping up with recording, and before you know it we have a backlog. But not to fear! We'll get through it in less than two hours somehow.

This week, we chat about Jinaal, Face the Strange, Mirrors, and Whistlespeak (it was a challenge just to remember all these episode titles). Discovery Season 5 is definitely ending up to be one of the stronger and consistent seasons of the series - but what did we think about each of these episodes? Listen and find out!

Sorry for the wait listeners!!! We are back and it's our 50th episode! Join Haley and I as we take a break from classic TNG and move into a rewatch of Picard Season 3 starting at the beginning with The Next Generation.
In this episode Haley and I talk all about what we thought when we saw this epic first episode...we talk Shaw, we talk Bev and her badass opening scene and we laugh along with all of Riker's classic lines. Not only that, we discuss some of the cool hidden details within the episode, thoughts on what could be next and again, gush over how much we love Shaw. Naturally of course there's lots of other nonsense including an update about Haley's new neighbourhood and what we're watching on the boob tube. So pour a glass of Malbec, BBQ up some green steak and join us!

2023 was a sad, sad year. The traditional year-end Outtakes Super Edit didn't happen as planned and the dozen of Trek Geeks fans everywhere were crestfallen that their holidays suddenly had no meaning whatsoever.

Bill and Dan have decided to make up for it this week with an entire episode about NOTHING!  Now, now...calm down, Andy Fark. We know you're gonna say, "EVERY episode is about nothing," and, while you might be right, this one is even more nothinger. So THERE. Take that, doodoohead.

So, this episode is what happens when Bill and Dan have no plan at all. There's some Star Trek in this episode, so all is not lost. However, if you want to hear the origins of the phrases "turkey neck" and "man up or s*it in your hat" in their lives, then be sure to listen all the way through.

Davy Perez joined us for a fun conversation about writing for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (seasons 1 and 2). He's an accomplished writer and producer and it was a great pleasure to learn about his life outside of Trek as well!
